Luka Dončić is a Slovenian professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association's Dallas Mavericks. He also represents the Slovenian national team. Born in Ljubljana, Dončić shone as a young Union Olimpija player before joining Real Madrid's youth academy. He made his debut for their senior team in 2015 at the age of 16, becoming the youngest in club history. Two years later, he led Madrid to the 2018 EuroLeague Championship, winning the EuroLeague MVP as well as the Four Final MVPs. Dončić was also named ACB MVP and won back-to-back EuroLeague Emerging Star and ACB Best Young Player awards. He was selected for the EuroLeague 2010-2020 All Decades Team. In 2018, Dončić announced his participation in the NBA Draft, joining the Dallas Mavericks. He was unanimously selected for the NBA's All-Powerful Team of the Year and won the Rookie of the Year award for the 2018-19 season. In the second season, he was selected to join his first NBA All-Star game and was named to the All-NBA First Team.
